Use a tripod and don't touch the camera while it's taking pictures
- Turn off the flash
- Press the > button
- Choose the "no flash" icon
- ISO
- After pressing the "func set" button, press the up/down buttons or turn the dial to choose, then press the "func set" button again.
- Choose 800 or higher ISO
- Manual Focus
- After pressing the < button, press the <> buttons or turn the dial to choose MF, then press the "func SET" button.
- Focus Roughly
- The side bar shows your focal point and a distance display for the MF indicator. While looking at the magnified area, turn the dial to find an approximate focus.
- Fine tuning the focus.
- If you press the shutter button halfway, you can fine tune the focus (Safety MF).
- Manual mode
- Set the mode dial to M
- Press the ^ button to choose between shutter speed and aperture value
- Exposure
- When in shutter mode, turn the dial to set shutter speed. 20 second exposures should avoid star trails while gathering enough light to see night sky objects.
- Aperture
- When in aperture mode turn the dial to set the lowest aperture value
